2000 Country style cottage with feature of corrugated iron on the external cladding with timber windows also.  This house was designed for cosiness and warmth. The house faces north and has extensive windows along the front of the open kitchen, meals, lounge area.  A compact laundry is hidden in a cupboard, a loft spare room is also tucked away via a loft ladder. The main bedroom has an ensuite and separate verandah for parent retreat.
A solid timber pole was erected in the centre of the kitchen and provided the theme of a timber kitchen with solid timber polished flooring.  A deck area surrounds the north facing part of the house allowing owners to enjoy the spectacular country vista.
Fireplace raised with polished concrete hearth makes an impressive feature in the main lounge.
2002 This is house has been positioned north facing and all rooms at the front of the house actually look out over the rolling hills. From the centre of the house we have views to a feature pool, dam on the property and rolling hills.  At the main entry to the house we utilized large open commercial fixed glass to allow ample light to filter in.  For durability and to add warmth to the internal wall colours we used mixed species of timber on the floor.
The main lounge room entry was defined by the use of lighting  in the curved cornice. The coffit ceiling provides a feature in itself. Inserted in the loungeroom wall is a built in waine rack using solid jarrah timber and stainless steel. The open internal waindows theme has been used in the lounge area opening into a hallway and similarly continued through to the kitchen with vision of the front door and at the same time allowing natural light to enter.
House designed with energy efficiency considerations, floor heating installed, foilboard used for additional insulation & commercial tinted sashless windows used.

The main entry way looks through to an indoor garden, then leads through an arts and crafts room to a glass-protected outdoor living area.  The kitchen has a large walk-in pantry and ample island bench space. 2003 The curved roof softens the impact of the house on the hillside, and the use of zincalume panels in conjunction with textured painted panels allows the house to blend into its surrounds. The cantilevered verandah, with the use of stainless steel wire rails, allows an unimpeded view from all main rooms of the valley below.  The interior is designed around a large kitchen, dining and lounge area with the feature being a five metre high ceiling in the kitchen with a large window facing to the south east.  This, coupled with a glass wall on the west side, allows minimal use of electric lighting in the morning and early evenings.
2004 Best Custom Home between

2004 A traditional Australian homestead in a modern design. The house has a 30 degree pitched roof with wide verandahs and a textured render finish. The ceilings were designed at 3 meters to enhance the need for an open feeling and remain in context with traditional Australian homesteads. All internal doors were set to 2400mm to further develop the sense of space throughout home. The kitchen is constructed of Tasmanian Oak with timber edged laminate bench tops. All bedrooms are complimented with large robes and are enhanced by floor to ceiling windows opening onto the picturesque backyard setting.
2005 Best Renovation/Addition over $200,000
2005 The original house was an 8.5 square western red cedar cottage, a much loved weekender.  A home now 40 plus squares which retains the intimate character of the original, but has become a country residence. This home takes advantage of the spectacular views of the ranges around and the extension blends into the existingnative trees and eucalypts. The renovation involved extending and totally revamping the original bathroom and kitchenm extending main bedroom and adding an ensuite, extending uest room and family room.
The extensions at either end of the house have 45 degree pitch cathedral ceilings - lined with corrugated iron giving a rustic but very imposing result.  The living areas on the northern wing are open-plan on 3 split levels creating a spacious area, but also providing intimate interior cosiness. Downstairs is fully equipped gymnasium, library and cellar and above the gym is an artists studio which easily converts to an effective gallery for holding exhibitions.

2006 This house has 5 levels due to the nature of the slope on the block. Designed for compartmentalized areas between owners and guests, bedrooms take full advantage of the views through the full height windows. Bathrooms and ensuites feature purpose made vanities and modern tiling accentuates the sleek design.  Electrical fittings have been carefully selected to blend with the style and uplights to the internal bridging staircase are a feature.  The central area features soaring 5 meter timber lined ceilings spreading over an extensive mezzanine area with the integrated walkway bridging the space to other living areas.
Externally, the cutting pitch of the roof presented a number of challenges but has become a feature contrasted with the sweeping retainer walls that line the entrance to the house.  External walls are a mixture of render, Weathertex and Kanmantoo Bluestone designed to blend the house to the surrounding environment.  The walls are edged by a magnificent merbou deck designed with stainless wire balustrade allowing for unimpeded views from inside the house.

2007 The house is of rendered block construction and a large double garage gives security access into the house.
Sashless double hung windows enhance the modern design of the home at the front. A uniquely angular designed deck area, with a timber bi-fold, enables the home to be easily adapted to outdoor entertaining and makes the most of a spacious garden area to the rear of the home. This northern aspect to the home allows for extensive glazing to bring light to the main living areas adding to the open feel of the home.
With a distinctive modern feel, the home was designed to create separate living zones, taking into account the featured entertainment unit built into the family area.  This unit is integrated into the home via speaker systems giving the impact of a home theatre without the need for an additional room.
A large meals area separates the entertainment area from the kitchen and the subtle tones in floor tiling help to soften this transition.  The kitchen makes the most of space.  It features Pearla Sabbia granite transformation tops, combined with the black tulip and stipple hemp laminex doors, creating a stunning impression.  The island bench is of a curved design, giving anyone at this station a feeling of being a part of the rest of the living areas.
A formal lounge is placed at the front of the home and provides a private area away from the main living zone.  The master bedroom features a spacious walk in robe and the ensuite has floor to ceiling tiles, frameless shower screens and purpose made vanities.
This creative look is most distinctive within the local area and has provided a great deal of interest in the community.  The home reflects Hedger Constructions determination to be at the forefront of innovative design and construction techniques within the industry.
2008 This breathtaking open plan home has steel support columns for the suspended slab, state-of-the-art kitchen & double glazed timber/aluminium windows. The house is reverse cycle air-conditioned, has an open fireplace, in-slab gas boiler hot water coil system and all bedrooms having an en-suite and walk-in robe. A well coordinated neutral colour theme runs throughout the house ensuring simplicity and elegance.
2008 The original Warratta house was set on a steeply sloping one acre block immediately above Lake Eildon's high water level with panoramic views of the lake. We decided to transform the two storey house and its surrounds as a permanent residence for our eventual retirement.
The top storey (approximately 120 sq m) was removed totally and replaced with a 160 sq m timber frame, polystyrene foam then colour rendered structure topped with a Colorbond high pitched gable roof. The existing garage was also clad and colour rendered to match the house. Single level all round timber decking skirted by powder coated aluminium and glass balustrading replaced the previous small decks. An additional bedroom overlooking Lake Eildon, a cellar built into the hill, and an extensive timber deck utilising the original reworked steel balustrading were included as part of the lower level renovation.
In about the centre of the upper level is a four-walled open top plastered section built around the retained staircase to the lower level above which skylights inset into large deep plastered shafts in the cathedral ceiling provide light to the stairwell and surrounding living spaces and a view of the native trees further up the block. Access panels were designed into one side of the plastered section for access to main entertainment equipment cabling and connections.

"The Oswald"
2009 The home was designed by the builder with greensmart principles in mind.  Three levels to the home allow for zoned living and is based on open living and design.  Externally it was designed to vary significantly from the surrounding homes providing a modern look with varying roof levels, ceiling heights to 3.5 metres and a determination to keep a modular look inside and out.
All fixtures were chosen to enhance this look as is the colour selection. Block orientation was always taken into consideration for design.
The kitchen features Caesar stone and automatic openable skylight above.  Full gloss doors, self closing hinges and pull out pantry add a distinctive style.  A heat sink wall, stacker doors and raked ceilings also add to the style of the home.
This home reached 6 star level due to its innovative design. Double glazed windows, orientation of living areas to the north and double glazed skylights in the ensuite and kitchen, with electric blinds creating light and outstanding insulation qualities.
Celestial windows allow winter sun to effect a heat sink wall and all underfloor heating is zoned.  1.2 metre eaves allow for shading around the home for orientation of the sun throughout the year.  A quantum heat pump system as a HWS and a water tank serves the WC and garden watering. Provision has been made for a grey water system
